Our dark patinated brick slips is the perfect solution for facades that require a timeless yet contemporary expression. With a thickness of only 2.5 cm, the shells allow you to create beautiful, robust, lightweight facades without the need for the same construction requirements as solid bricks.
The brick slips achieve the same aesthetic result as traditional bricks, with natural color plays and textures that add life and character to the facade. They can be used on both new buildings and renovation projects where space and weight restrictions play a role.
The brick slips are patinated with a mixture of lime water and oxide black. Brick slips that are patinated with lime water have a curing time of 3-4 weeks at normal 20 degrees. In cold and wet periods, the curing time can last longer. This means there can be excess colour transfer for a period of time and that there can therefore also be color differences in the bricks due to the water percentage they contain. The bricks will appear lighter in summer. We cannot accept complaints due to color differences due to the patination not being dry or the brick having just been laid and water added to the mortar, etc.
Patinated bricks and brick slips are not accepted for return, and you should not use acid or water to clean mortar of the patinated bricks.
We also supply brick slips mounted on boards, ready to use for ventilated facade solutions.
Since all bricks from Gamle Mursten are recycled bricks, they vary in expression. This variation gives them a unique character and ensures a vibrant and authentic expression in the finished building.
