Forest House is a beautiful holiday home, designed by its owners; Kasper, Emilie and Lasse, who are all architects. The house is build as a classic longhouse, with double-height kitchen / dining room and livingroom, plus 2 bedrooms and 2 raised sleeping platforms.
Despite the house’s modest 100 square meters, it has wonderful spaces to explore and several variations in expression. Towards the protected forest, the house opens op with large windows and a framed overhang that overlooks the forest.
The material choices have been made to achieve both a healthy indoor climate and a sustainable build. To achieve a low carbon footprint, the house is build from timber and all materials above the foundation are bio-based, upcycled and reclaimed.
Gamle Mursten’s yellow brick slips are used for the kitchen / dining area floor, and in the bathroom. The muted bricks gives a unique expression and the recycled bricks fits perfectly with the owner’s conscious material choices.
